Wildkits Face Heightened Expectations
After advancing to the IHSLA Sectional final last season and finishing with an overall record of  11-9, the Evanston Township High School boys’ lacrosse team hopes to advance to that point again (if not farther) this season.

The Quad is Open
During the middle Saturdays this month, the Quad is hosting open houses for field hockey players ages 9-14, overseen by Ejaz Syed. There will be drills, scrimmages and games for boys and girls in middle schoolers.

ETHS Girls' Soccer Are on a Roll
The ETHS girls’ soccer team’s overall record is now 10 wins, 1 loss and three ties. Their only loss was to New Trier on April 14, which is the two-time State champion and ranked No. 1 in the nation by USA Today.

New Trier Beats Wildkits in Overtime
Natalie Laser’s “golden goal” with 2 minutes, 37 seconds remaining in the first overtime period allowed the Trevians to escape with a 2-1 victory in the semifinals of the PepsiCo Showdown tournament  in Northfield Thursday night in a battle of unbeatens.

Evanston Swims! Teams With Coast Guard For Lakefront Safety Instruction
The U.S. Coast Guard and Coast Guard Auxiliary will continue its ongoing support of Evanston Swims! by providing water safety instruction at the April 6 and May 4 sessions of this collaborative learn-to-swim program for Evanston second-graders.

Blue Stoners Hockey Team Wins National Pond Hockey Championship
The Blue Stoners, named after the Central Street eatery, were crowned national champions at the 11th annual Labatt Blue/USA Adult Pond Hockey National tournament. The event took place on Dollar Lake in Eagle River, Wis., the first weekend in February and included 280 teams with nearly 2,000 players representing 30 States.
