Free Screenings, Kids' Activities Available at Annual Family Fun and Safety Fair
Free health screenings for adults and activities for children will be offered at the Family Fun and Safety Fair on Sept. 14 from noon to 4 p.m. at Presence Saint Francis Hospital, 355 Ridge Ave. The fair celebrates the hospital’s 40 years as an EMS system and 25 years as a Level 1 Trauma Center

Back-to-School Haircuts at Ebony Barber Shop
The last haircuts before the holiday at Ebony Barber Shop, 1702 Dodge Ave., were labors of love. Owner Brigitte “Gigi” Giles and barbers Jason Loyd and James Collins donated their time and barbering skills on Aug. 31 to give free haircuts to 70 students, kindergartners through freshmen.

New research from The Allstate Foundation confirms domestic violence affects one in four women in her lifetime. Ninety eight percent of these women will also suffer financial abuse, often indicating whether they will stay, leave or return to an abusive relationship.

City and Coleman Foundation Address Violence Since Dajae's Death

Presence Hospitals Names New Officer
Presence Health recently announced the appointment of Elizabeth Early, to chief ambulatory and ancillary services officer for Presence Saint Francis Hospital in Evanston and Presence Saint Joseph Hospital in Chicago. Ms. Early was previously the program director of ancillary services at the University of Chicago Medicine, where she was instrumental in the design, planning and launch of a 1.2 million-square-foot specialty care center.
