Doctor Honored for Philanthropic Commitment

The Presence St. Francis Keystone Founders Society recently honored Janis Atkinson, M.D, chairperson of the hospital’s Department of Pathology and medical director of the laboratory, with the 2013 Keystone Founders Award. She was recognized for her philanthropic commitment at the annual Keystone Founders Society Dinner.

A member of the Keystone Founders Society since 1996, Dr. Atkinson was instrumental in raising the funds to renovate the hospital auditorium as well as bringing in an aquarium to help relax cancer patients before their treatment.

“We can help provide funds to support the mission and deliver on our promise to provide quality care to everyone, independent of their ability to afford it,” Dr. Atkinson said. “Presence Saint Francis Hospital has a long-standing tradition to support philanthropy, and I am honored to be a part of its legacy.”
