From 12 noon to 5 p.m. on June 30, the Evanston Environmental Association will offer an opportunity to spend a summer afternoon seeing ten of Evanston’s most amazing gardens. This year’s offerings include nine private and one public garden, the Merrick Rose Garden.
During the Walk, an arborist from Autumn Tree Care will be at the Ecology Center to answer tree questions. And at the Merrick Rose Garden, members of the Northern Illinois Unit of the Herb Society of America will be offering refreshments, including rosehip iced tea.
Tickets for the Walk are available at the Evanston Ecology Center, 2024 McCormick Blvd., as well as at numerous nurseries and flower shops listed at www.evanstonenvironment.org/.
After 24 years of raising funds for Keep Evanston Beautiful programs, the Evanston Garden Walk will for the first time benefit the Evanston Environmental Association. KEAB disbanded after 26 years of environmental stewardship, and EEA has taken over most of the popular KEB programs, including the school gardening initiative (SAGE). More information is available from the Ecology Center at 847-448-8256 or email@example.com.
