Geary W. Kull Appointed Circuit Court Judge
Judge Kull
Judge Kull

On May 27, Geary W. Kull, a resident of Evanston, was appointed by the Illinois Supreme Court to the office of Judge of the Circuit Court of Cook County.  Judge Kull was sworn into office on June 8 by Illinois Supreme Court Chief Justice Thomas Fitzgerald.  Judge Kull fills a countywide vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Francis J. Dolan, an appointment which will end on December 6, 2010.

Judge Kull was admitted to the llinois bar in 1974 after graduating from John Marshall Law School in that same year. Over the past 35 years, Kull has focused on criminal law and civil rights law both as a former public defender and as a criminal trial attorney. In the evaluation of Kull's application for the office of Judge of the Circuit Court, the Chicago Bar Association gave Kull the organization's highest mark, "Highly Qualified."

Judge Kull grew up in Skokie and is a 1964 graduate of Notre Dame High School in Niles. He was involved in the development of the Evanston Baseball Softball Association (EBSA), and has coached hundreds of budding Evanston baseball players over his 30 plus years living in Evanston.  He has three children - Jason, Jessica, and Logan - all of whom graduated from Evanston Township High School.

Judge Geary Kull grew up in Linclonwood, not Skokie. Nice article!
