Black Whalemen: Their Role in Community-Building and Abolition

Please join Evanston Quakers for Parts 2 & 3 of Deena Uzzell's Black Whalemen / Abolition Discussion Series on Sunday April 23rd, 11:30-12:30 with lunch following. Part 2 focuses on black whalemen who used their income to build early communities of color. Part 3 recalls the role that these men played in assisting people fleeing bondage and their role in abolition activities. Evanston's Quaker meeting house is located at 1010 Greenleaf Street, at the corner of Maple, one block east of the light at Greenleaf and Ridge. Parking on the street along Greenleaf, Maple and Oak.
