Incident Near Perkins Woods

On Aug. 7 at around noon, a juvenile male was out walking his dog near Perkins Woods (just west of Lincolnwood School) when an unknown male driving a taxi cab east-bound on Grant Street at Ewing Avenue asked the juvenile “if he wanted to see something cool,” said Police Officer Lloyd Spells of the Evanston Police Department. The juvenile responded no thanks and continued walking away from the subject as he also drove away from the juvenile. Shortly after the cab drove away, the juvenile reported that the cab stopped the vehicle abruptly which startled him so he quickly took a picture of the cab (which captured the license plates) and ran through Perkins Woods where he later texted his mother that he was in some sort of trouble, said Officer Spells.

The Police Department’s Juvenile Detective Bureau is investigating this incident.
