On Dec. 6, members of the New Trier Democratic Organization voted to endorse Patrick Keenan-Devlin for state representative in the 18^th legislative district. A super-majority of 60 percent was required for endorsement. Mr. Keenan-Devlin did not win 60 percent of the votes in the first ballot which included five candidates. He received the required number of votes, though, in a run-off against candidate Eamon Kelly, according to the New Trier Dems website.

The 18^th District includes most of Evanston, parts of Rogers Park, and parts of Wilmette, Kenilworth, Glencoe and Winnetka.

On Dec. 5, Mr. Keenan-Devlin received the endorsement of Citizen Action/Illinois, a public interest organization, where he worked as legislative director.

The Democratic Party of Evanston is scheduled to consider endorsements of candidates for the upcoming primary elections on Dec. 13.
