&ldquo Spring Fever&rdquo Offers Fun-Filled Night on April 20

Evanston Resident Bart Rocca to Be Honored

Proceeds to Benefit Metropolitan Family Services Evanston/Skokie Valley Center

 

Evanston, Ill. (April 1, 2013) &ndash The Community Board of Metropolitan Family Services Evanston/Skokie Valley Center invites you to treat your &ldquo Spring Fever&rdquo with a fun-filled night of live music by Greenlight, dancing and food, taking place from 7- 9 p.m. on Saturday, April 20, 2013 at the Lakeview Center in Gillson Park, Wilmette, Ill. Founding board member and Evanston resident Bart Rocca will be honored at the event for his contributions to Metropolitan. Tickets are $50.

 

Spring Fever proceeds will help benefit social services provided by Metropolitan Family Services Evanston/Skokie including the support of children at risk of family and community violence, older adults experiencing abuse, and youth with mental illness.

 

Event honoree Bart Rocca has been a member of Metropolitan&rsquo s Evanston/Skokie Community Board since its formation in 1996, and has served as a past board chair and vice chair. He has been instrumental in building relationships and securing support for Metropolitan&rsquo s services, which benefited  more than 1,800 individuals and families in Evanston, Skokie, Niles, Morton Grove, Lincolnwood, Golf and Maine Townships last year. Rocca serves on the Community Works Committee of the Evanston Community Foundation, the board of the Evanston McGaw YMCA, and is a member of the Leadership Evanston Steering Committee. He works with Traversa Consulting in Northfield, Ill. as a consultant.

 

&ldquo I have been a committed board member of Metropolitan Family Services Evanston/Skokie Valley because I am impressed with the quality of the much-needed services that the agency provides to lower-income residents of our community,&rdquo says Rocca. &ldquo In providing these services Metropolitan is strengthening our families, and it is through strong families that we build strong communities.&rdquo
