Award-winning poet and playwright Susan Hahn reads from her first novel The Six Granddaughters of Cecil Slaughter. Described by Booklist as a "psychologically astute, darkly funny, and suspenseful" debut, the book follows a family of Hungarian Jewish immigrants living in Rogers Park in a hauntingly original tale punctuated with Hahn''s poetry. Hahn will take questions and sign books following her reading, and copies of The Six Granddaughters of Cecil Slaughter will be available to purchase courtesy of Lake Forest Bookstore.
Susan Hahn is the author of nine books of poetry including The Scarlet Ibis and Self/Pity and was editor of TriQuarterly for 14 years. Her many writing awards include The George Kent Prize from Poetry, two Pushcart Prizes, and a Guggenheim Fellowship. She lives in Winnetka.
