Boys in 6th-8th grade and their fathers* are invited to join us for our monthly Father-Son Book Group. This group gives fathers and sons an opportunity to bond through the acts of reading and discussing story.
This month, we''ll be reading Sir Arthur Conan Doyle''s classic Sherlock Holmes mystery, THE HOUND OF THE BASKERVILLES. In this installment about the infamous duo, Holmes and Watson are faced with their most terrifying case yet. A devil-beast is reported to lurk about the Baskerville family home. The most recent Baskerville, Sir Charles, is dead and the footprints of a giant hound have been found near his body. Is this the work of the devil-beast? Will the new Baskerville heir meet the same fate?
We will begin our meeting this month with an evidence technician from the Evanston Police Department who will talk about crime-solving techniques and the crime scene investigation process. After that, we will gather for a discussion about the book.
Please register online (register only once for your father-son pair), in person at the Loft staff desk, or by calling (847) 448-8625 during Loft hours. Once registered, please visit the Loft to pick up two copies of the book to read before we meet.
