ILLINOIS EYE-BANK CELEBRATES ITS 15TH AT PENINSULA HOTEL GALA

Illinois Eye-Bank will be celebrating its 15th Annual Gift of Sight Gala at the Peninsula Chicago on Thursday, June 27th from 6 to 10 p.m,  "All Eyes On You." This year, our eyes are on Northwestern University ophthalmologist Dr. Robert Feder and Sun-Times Splash Editor Susanna Negovan, who will be honored that night for outstanding contributions in their fields.

Susanna  Negovan is a household name in Chicago and a well-known media personality.  She joined Wrapports, Inc. in May 2012 to create the  Chicago Sun-Times'  Sundaystyle magazine,  SPLASH,  and now serves both as editor and publisher.  She also appears daily on Fox&rsquo s  Good Day Chicago  at  9 a.m.  discussing the day's biggest news stories.  Prior to joining Wrapports, Negovan spent four years as editor in chief of  Michigan Avenue  magazine, which she also helped create, drawing on her experience as a freelance  society page  columnist for the  Chicago Sun-Times.

The Eye-Bank&rsquo s second honoree, Dr. Robert Feder has made invaluable contributions to the field of ophthalmology. Dr. Feder is known for his patient-focused approach to LASIK surgery, has co-authored two books on LASIK and written extensively for professional journals. The Eye-Bank will honor Dr. Feder for his lifelong work in ophthalmology including founding and leadership of the Chicago Cornea Association, a unique collegial collaboration that has spawned published research papers as well as enduring friendships.

For 15 years the gala has supported the Illinois Eye-Bank's ongoing research into the causes and cures of blinding eye conditions and funded educational programs to increase awareness of the continuing need for eye and organ tissue donation. For more information or to buy tickets visit the Illinois Eye-Bank website.
